BRONZANTI'S AUTOMATA

The Brazen Legions

An inert, reconstructed Brazen Knight in the royal collection of Auspenstadt.
Over several hundred years, Amadeo Bronzanti designed and produced an dizzying array of different war machines and automatons. Many of his inventions were achieved through the ingenious application of scientific principles - complex but soulless mechanical devices made in the image of living creatures.

Some others incorporated organs and nerve tissues harvested from cadavers, and animated with the last spark of his waning magical powers, or forged with arcane assistance from the devil called Muse.

And some were created from the still-living bodies of living beings, reshaped by his black arts into new forms... with or without their consent.

WYVERNS

Terror from the skies

These aerial reptilian predators are distant relatives of Dragonkind. Although they are generally weaker and more mundane than those grand old beasts, they remain dangerous and terrifying creatures, holdovers from the age of myth.

Wyverns are territorial, generally solitary, and highly aggressive. Unlike Dragons, they possess only an animal level of intelligence, but they display an instinctive cunning and volatile temperament reminiscent of large felines.

SATYRICONS

These strange creatures were Amadeo Bronzanti's replacements for his army of aging Capradors, and they now outnumber their predecessors. They are strong, resilient, implacable, and highly mobile.

CAPRADORS

Sentries of Dreist

These creatures patrol the remote areas around Mount Donnerquell. In recent months, they have become far more aggressive in policing Bronzanti's domain, and may be linked to the disappearances of entire small mountain communties.

The physical body of the Caprador is imposing and formidable, resembling an unnatural chimerical fusion of a mountain goat with some enormous ape. They are shaggy, hunched humanoids with large goatlike heads and long curling horns. Their torsos are powerful, with lean lower bodies supported by digitigrade legs with cloven hooves. Standing well over 7ft tall, they are robust in proportion and tremendously strong.

BRAZEN KNIGHTS

Armies of Dreist

The Brazen Knights are Amadeo Bronzanti's newest soldiers, incorporating the physical power of the old Capradors with the mechanical precision of the Satyricons. Eschewing the bestial motifs found Bronzanti's earlier designs, Brazen Knights are humanoid, standing 7 1/2 feet tall, with lean, elongated limbs. Their bodies are entirely encased in bronze-hued armour etched with decorative motifs. A faint blue light shimmers behind their visors, and a warbling hum emanates from within.

BUGBEARS

Origins

Bugbears were among the many supernatural Faerie beasts created to serve the Unseelie Court in the age of the Goblin Kings. Charged with guarding the borders of Unseelie domains, these monsters are most at home in the deep woods under cover of night. Serving as sentries and trackers, they combine the fearsome natural traits of normal bears with dark Fae glamour and a malicious cunning.
