The Eye of Argus is a composite crystal lens of unbelievable complexity, like a most spectacularly cut diamond, but wrought whole from Faerie glass.
Once, this functioned as a component of Amadeo Bronzanti's powerful biomechanical servant named “Argus the Beautiful." Using his fantastical eyes, Argus was capable of perceiving even the tiniest, briefest events happening in his vicinity, and parsing the myriad reflected images delivered to him from the Faerie glass mirror arrays installed throughout Castle Dreist.
Light that passes through the multifaceted core of the eye can be channeled with such purpose and purity that no brightness or clarity is lost. In fact, the quality of light focused through the facets of the Eye of Argus can even be intensified or multiplied if applied correctly.
So precise and intricate is the composition of the eye, that to put it to any determined use requires a commensurate level of care and precision. Without needle-sharp focus, any light the eye is exposed to only scatters into a million scintillating reflections. With most forms of light, this produces a dazzling display, but under direct sunlight (or a similarly intense source) the effect can be positively blinding to any and all nearby.
