INDESTRUCTIBLE DWARVEN BOX

magical vessel

This small decorative chest (approximately l ft x l ft x 2 ft) is made of a smooth black metal with brass and silver trim. The aesthetic motifs are bold and geometric, and seem to indicate that it is of Dwarven origin.

The box is surprisingly light, and seems to have an internal locking mechanism that is magically activated. Once the box is shut, the lock engages,  leaving no external access, keyholes, mechanisms or hinges.

Once the box is closed, it will not open again, unless a specialized keyphrase is whispered in the Dwarvish tongue. This keyphrase is etched in a discreet spot in the box's interior, with tiny runes concealed within the decorative patterning.

Embedded in the materials of the box is a powerful enchantment which fortifies its resilience and protects its contents from harm, with the overall effect of being very nearly indestructible.

This box was part of the White-Gold King's collection of magical curiosities. It is likely to have been a gift from a Dwarven noble... or perhaps a tribute claimed from a defeated enemy.
