This object appears to be a large, hooked tooth that once belonged to a monstrously large creature, perhaps a dragon or a giant serpent. Upon it are carved arcane inscriptions, instructing that the tooth be “sown” or driven into the ground.
When someone approaches within 20ft of the ‘planted’ tooth, it begins to burn red hot, and smolder, creating a plume of smoke. Within D3 rounds, a tall, seething reptilian humanoid will sprout from the tooth, fully armed with a spear and shield.
The Spartoi will aggressively attack anyone nearby, fighting until slain. It is a magical construct -- it knows no fear, and cannot be reasoned with. If it is slain, it smolders and turns to ash, along with its weapons and the tooth is lost in this process.
It is unknown how long a Spartoi may last after it has been spawned.
