- Burning = d4 fire dam / begin turn grappled/in contact)
- Smoking lasts subsequent 5 rounds
- Smoking = 1 burn dam / per turn in contact
- refreshed by dousing in lamp oil (or similar)
The dense fabric of this robe is impregnated with a waxy resin. When ignited, it will sustain a modest flame for up to a minute. During this time, the wearer is on fire but is protected from harm. The specially-prepared fibers resist fire and insulate the wearer from minor fire effects (DR:10).
The fire will gradually burn lower, until it gives off a thick, greasy smoke. After it burns out, the cloak must be renewed by dousing it in some kind of flammable oil (which will be quickly absorbed by the thick outer layers).
For the first 5 rounds after ignition, the cloak will burn brightly but in a controlled fashion. Being on fire grants Advantage on relevant Intimidation checks, providing the wearer sells the experience a bit.
Any grappling actions involving close contact will inflict D4 fire damage each round of contact with the active cloak. It is unlikely that the victim of these burns will fully catch fire unless there are other aggravating factors.
In the second 5 rounds, the cloak smolders, producing a billowing smoke that can distract or irritate others nearby. The cloak is equipped with a scarf on the cowl that protects the wearer from most of the smoke. Contact with the smoldering cloak (rounds 6-10) inflicts only 1 HP of burn damage.
