The MOON COURT

NOBLES of the SILVERED REALM

The Moonfae held great power in The Age Before, both on Earth and in the Faerie realms. The White-Gold King watched over the world from his palatial seat upon the the lunar surface, and was served by his Moon Court, a council formed by the most elevated nobles of the Silvered Realm.

These are no mere Elves, but highborn Sidhe - ethereal entities yet untethered to the mortal plane. They appear as very tall, elongated, colourless figures that seem always to shimmer with a flickering otherworldly light. They are ageless, nigh-immortal creatures with vast arcane power.

The houses of the Moonfae number twelve, and each is ruled by a Liege who bears the house regalia - symbolic artifacts fashioned as extensions of their own being.

Although all the Lieges are supposed to be a council of equals, some wield more personal power, just as others cultivated special influence within the Unseelie Court, or had the favour of the White-Gold King himself.

Over the eons, their houses schemed and squabbled amongst each other, but were always aligned when it came to the larger endeavour; to dominate their rivals, to exalt the White-Gold Throne, and to elevate their kind.

Greater Faeries are wild magick incarnate, unfixed in form and ruled by fickle, turbulent emotions. To temper this chaos within them, most Sidhe dedicate themselves to rigid principles and philosophies that serve to define and contain them. Among the Moonfae nobles, their absolute loyalty to the White-Gold King and belief in their own supremacy were such structuring tenets.

That is, until their King succumbed to madness, and their realm came crashing down...

The Lawkeeper of the Moon
Ht: 7'2  /  Wt: 150  /  Hair:   /  Eyes:  luminous white
Skin: grey  /  Age: unknown  /  Creed: Moonfae
Status: DESTROYED

A tall, solemn figure with a stern, dispassionate expression and piercing eyes that glow with a clear silver light. He wears resplendent black and silver plate armour, and a hanging cloak that is half black and half white.

Among the Moon Court, the Lord Ulekuvion is the keeper of laws, and acts as mediator, counsel, judge, and executioner for the throne. He speaks slowly and deliberately with a commanding tone. He is rarely quick to action, but once he has issued a decree, he is resolute. It is he who rules on matters of law in the kingdom... though Faerie laws are often confounding to outsiders

Ulekuvion is specialized in magics that control and bend others to his will. He also can see through lies and trickery, and is unaffected by the illusions wielded by his Faerie peers in the court. He requires that all submit to the authority of his office. Although theoretically of equal standing with the other Lieges, the importance of law in their social hierarchy sets Ulekuvion apart from his peers. After the King and the royal kin, his word is law. The other Moonfae Lords may disagree with him on points of order, but would not openly defy him. At least, so long as the authority of the White-Gold Throne endures...
The ceremonial regalia of his house is a large bearded axe with a white haft and a clear crystalline blade. It bears his name - Ulekuvion, the Axe of the Lawkeeper.
Ulekuvion heard the Tyrson Company's appeals and their accusations about the treacheries of the Dusk Prince. However, he dismissed the Grey King's purported crimes against his people based upon the simple tenet that, by their laws, when the King commits such acts, they are only exercises of power rather than crimes. He then declared that the Moon Court would be obligated to avenge the regicide.
He also decreed that Kian Grey's insults against the White-Gold Throne demanded answer, and presided over the formal challenge issued by Isilvail the Standard Bearer. When Isilvail was on the verge of defeat, the match was interrupted by Isilrana who teleported the Moonfae away. Ulekuvion ruled that Isilvail was in default, and must forfeit her "life" -- in this case, her noble name and her regalia, including the hand that once held the White-Gold Banner. She was banished and he presented her broken lance to Kian.
Ulekuvion participated in the Moonfae ambush on the Tyrson Company at Magoa, and trapped Jack in his personal demiplane with the intention of carrying out his execution. With the assistance of  a Blue Lightning concentrate of Faerie stimulants, Jack managed to turn the tide of battle, shattering Ulekuvion's Axe and slaying the Sidhe Lord.

Ht: 7'4  /  Wt: 150  /  Hair: platinum  /  Eyes: luminous gold
Skin:  grey  /  Age: unknown  /  Creed: Moonfae
Status: MAIMED, BANISHED

Isilvail is a towering beauty who inspires a fervent pride in her fellows, and cowering fear in the enemies of the White-Gold Throne. She is the tallest and most striking of the Moonfae Lords, with eyes that throb with a golden light, and a flowing mane of hair like strands of moonbeam.

She wears a shimmering white-gold tabard over a suit of resplendent plate armour in silver and black. Like the other Lords of the Moon Court, she can float effortlessly in the air - but always higher and more prominently than the others. She rarely deigns to touch the ground, and is often encircled by swirling winds that echo her tempers, keening eerily or roaring in triumph.

She bears the ceremonial regalia of her house, as well as that of the Moonfae realm itself - a tall lance in black metal, festooned with a long undulating banner in white, silver, and gold. This banner is perpetually in motion, unfurling dramatically in slow ripples when she is at peace, or snapping about her like a coiling viper when she is stirred.

Her lance, the Windswept Banner, is the symbol and pride of House Isilvail.
The proud Isilvail was the first to demand satisfaction for Kian Grey's impudence, and demanded to a duel to the death with the mortal. She was unprepared for his treacherous tactics and the magics with which he bolstered himself for the contest.
Although sorely pressed, she was too haughty to concede, even on the point of death. She was saved by the timely intervention of Lady Isilrana who was outraged by the shameful spectacle, and teleported all the members of the Moon Court away.
Although Isilvail survived the duel, Ulekuvion obliged her to abide by the terms of the incomplete duel, and so condemned her to an incomplete death. Isilvail was forced to relinquish her noble name, and was banished for her failure to uphold the honour of the Moonfae Thrones.
The proud hand that once carried the White-Gold Banner was severed in penance, making her incomplete as well. Her black lance, the regalia of the House of the Windswept Moon, was sundered by Ulekuvion's axe. Its magicks broken, it was then presented to Kian Grey with both ceremony and contempt.

Status: ACTIVE, ROGUE

The Lady Isilrana is clad in fluttering dark robes that are always in motion, and her silvery hair twines around her shoulders in serpentine braids. There is a rippling cloudlike motion in her dark eyes, changeable, yet far-seeing.

Isilrana was rarely long in her own court, for she wandered always -- over mountains and through great deserts, across oceans, and between the planes. She is nowhere to be found, but always where she feels she must be. Her lunar domain permits her to bend the forces of space itself, and use them to move her where she will... or to move the world around her. She is among the most powerful of the Moon Court, and the most willful as well.

She bears the ceremonial regalia of her house, an elaborate walking staff, carved of an unknown ivory-like material, and which bears her name - Isilrana, the Staff of the Wayward Moon.
Isilrana was unable to endure the shame of watching the bearer of the White-Gold Banner fall to a mortal, and so intervened in the duel between Isilvail and Kian Grey. After teleporting her fellow Moon Court nobles away, she quarreled with Ulekuvion over her interference.
Too independent to submit to Ulekuvion's laws, she reportedly departed the company of the other nobles in order to walk her own idiosyncratic path of vengeance. It is understood that this has always been her way.

Skin: grey  /  Age: unknown  /  Creed: Moonfae
Status: DEAD (slain by Kian)

The Lord of the Cold Moon is a shadowy figure, rarely appearing as more than a translucent shape wreathed in gloam, but for occasional glimmers of his pale visage, and the two cold cobalt flames of his eyes. He speaks in a brittle, icy whisper that rings like fine glass, and which elicits an involuntary chill in others, whether real or imagined.

Ithilring seems to exist perpetually at the edges of perception, translucent in the darkness, and only glimpsed in the corner of an eye. If one can even briefly fix gaze upon him, he appears garbed in midnight blue, with faint glints of silver trim.

It is said that Ithilring's heart is frozen and callous, his one animating emotion being pitiless cruelty... like a harsh and biting wind, or the touch of searing ice.

He bears the regalia of his House - a long rapier-like sword with an elaborate twining black hilt, and a nigh-invisible glass blade which ends in a very slight curve - the Moonchill Blade

Little is known of Ithilring's whereabouts or intentions. During Kian Grey's duel with Isilvail, he revealed that he could see through Kian's stealthy tricks, and suggested that unlike the Standard-Bearer, he would not rely on such bold, ostentatious tactics when his turn came. interference.

At the ambush on Magoa, Ithilring tricked Kian into passing into his icy demiplane, and nearly killed the archer. The timely arrival of  Mariscal Rigolo within the Moonfae's planar domain provided Kian with a time to recover from his wounds. Taking advantage of the distraction, Kian was able to deliver a killshot to Ithilring, destroying the Sidhe and breaking his demiplane.

Kian is currently in possession of Ithilring's magic sword, the Moonchill.

The Summer Moon
Ht: 6'10  /  Wt: 125  /  Hair: pale gold  /  Eyes: black
Skin: grey  /  Age: unknown /  Creed: Moonfae  /  Status: ACTIVE

The Summer Moon embodies hedonistic sexuality, the heady fever of new love, the euphoria of warm summer nights. Ellairei can change appearance at will, shift between genders, and even split himself into separate male and female versions of himself. Regardless of this polymorphy, Ellairei's core identity is masculine.

Ellairei is handsome and well-formed, with a youthful countenance and soft curls of pale hair bound in strands of golden leaves that tumble to his shoulders and adhere to his body. His sleepy eyes are black, but gleam with a lazy warmth, as if reflecting firelight. His grey skin is smooth and dewy, and his physique is partly covered by a sumptuous robe of soft gold. He walks barefoot, although his feet never quite touch the ground. He is more likely than his peers to wear a smile, though the intensity of his gaze has an unsettling quality.

Ellairei specializes in charms and enchantments. Rather than engaging in physical combat, he prefers to control others by manipulating their emotions, often pushing them to behavioural extremes.

He carries the regalia of the House of the Summer Moon, an elegant gold-stringed lyre in pale rosewood, whose arched arms are carved to represent two lovers.

Ellairei was first encountered spying on the Tyrson Company prior to the Magoa raid, through a magical pair of Quivering Doves (a summer bird). He later intervened during the raid disguised as a human woman, ensuring Commodore Dravoyan was awake. After Dravoyan's death, Ellairei impersonated him to rouse the camp and further turn circumstances against the Tyrson team.

When the Moon Court revealed their involvement, Ellairei attempted to lure the company through a portal to his personal demiplane, but was foiled by Korvuus. Finally, he unleashed the captive Blue Lightning-addicted pit-fighters to attack Kuan and Ironhawke. When the overall Moon Court ambush failed, Ellairei escaped through a faerie portal.

The beautiful Lady Cilintir is a mistress of divination and illusion. She is both a seeress who can peer into others' souls, and an artist who can create beautiful visions by bending light and colour to her whims in order to reveal or conceal. Howeer, this Faerie lady can be cruel as well; it is said that one must be cautious looking into the Mirror of Cilintir, for one always sees more than they bargained for.

Although like her peers, her skin has dulled from luminous silver to a ghostly grey, she garbs herself in gleaming cloth-of-silver raiment so fine that it resembles rippling mercury with a mirror finish.

Her domain is one of reflecting glass panes, gemlike facets, and dazzling lights.

Her regalia is the Great Mirror of the House of the Reflecting Moon. This large metallic disk is some four feet in diameter. It floats about her, responding to her thoughts and moods. The mirror also seems to act as an planar portal or teleportation aide.
Cilintir participated in the ambush of the Tyrson Company on the island of Magoa, trapping Korvuus and Valke in her illusory demiplane. Valke's true-seeing artificial saw through her illusions, and weakened, she released them and retreated into her mirror portal.
Later, the Tyrson Company traveled to the Silvered Realm, and using the Unwavering Branch, gained direct access to her mirror domain with the intention of defeating her and stealing her regalia. In battle, her mirror was shattered into 12 shards. She attempted to re-absorb the shards to replenish her powers, but was slain by Kuan and Jack before she culd succeed. Her mirror palace and surrounding domain collapsed. The shards are now in the possession of the Company, who hopes to find a way to harness their residual power.

For this reason, Uluyan Kovalayan ate her first.

Among the Moon Court, Isilumei the Shrouded Moon was most mysterious. Never fully seen, she ruled the moonless dark and watched from the shadows with her black eyes. All secrets were known to her, and the Regalia of her house, the Mantle of Night, permitted her to be all places at once, and yet nowhere at all.

It is in those shrouded in-between places that Uluyan the Great Pursuer sought her, and closed his jaws upon her unseen neck, ensuring all her secrets would be lost forever. The Mantle of Night is presumed to now be in the keeping of Morza Uluyan Kovalayan, the Warden of the Moon.

Status: DECEASED (killed by the Dusk Prince)

Lord Silindrin was the healer and alchemist of the Moon Court. He was considered to be among the wisest members of his kind, and a close advisor to the White-Gold King. He was the bearer of the Cauldron of the Moon, the symbol of his house, and an artifact of great power.
Silindrin journeyed to the Dew-Kissed Tower with his retinue to partake of the Eternal Banquet, but along the way, met the fugitive Dusk Prince, who begged sanctuary from them.
But they knew of his crimes, which had created a wound upon the Silvered Realms. They confronted the injured Dusk Prince and he retaliated. He laid his naked palm upon Silindrin's breast, and unleashed the fury of his curse upon them. Silindrin's body was consumed utterly by the Red Spite, and his host perished instantly. However, the Moonfae Liege's life force, was too great to be consumed - instead it remained bound, trapped between planes, and doomed to haunt his crytallized corpse for eternity.
The Dusk Prince then stole Silindrin's Cauldron, his finger bearing the signet ring of his house, and his noble likeness so that he might gain access to the White-Gold Palace and leave the Ashen Realm in his wake.
In the guise of Silindrin, the Dusk Prince was admitted to the Palace on the Moon. His  wounds were healed by Astraea, the Moonfae Princess. Fearing discovery, he moved quickly to poison the White-Gold King with Red Spite - a splinter of his own embittered heart. Acting as a trusted counsellor, he fed the King's growing paranoia and diverted attention to the other members of the Moon Court. Overcome by the corrupting influence of the Spite, the White-Gold King fell into madness, turning first against his courtiers, then his own family. Unable to reconcile these deeds, his psyche fractured, manifesting a second identity as the monstrous Grey King.
Still acting as Silindrin, the Dusk Prince persuaded Astraea to escape the palace with him. Leaving a duplicate of the Princess to dupe the King, they set out across the Moonless Plain to unlock the Winter Gate in the Manse of Howling Khan. The King was left to wander the halls of the Moon Palace, eternally seeking his adversary the Grey King.
