The mysterious hidalgo known as Agila has a dark reputation that manages to stand out even in a city as lurid as Ladroa. While superficially handsome, urbane, and jovial, this manner is only a thin veil for his sociopathy and the vain ugliness of his soul. He is a black-hearted dog, a man who lives by night, and needs little excuse to quarrel and draw blood.
While his skill with a rapier is widely attested, everyone in the criminal underworld of the city knows that what makes Agila so dangerous is his utter disregard for human life, the trappings of personal honour, or any grain of decency.
He will take any job for a price, no matter how cruel or despicable, and it makes little difference to him whether it is achieved through swordplay, by a knife in the dark, or by outright torture. In truth, he prefers the latter.
It is for this reason that Boss Arriaga made a point of enlisting Agila as his personal enforcer; few would risk welching on debts, especially after Agila has made grisly examples of those who went before.
While his many bloody crimes are whispered of, Agila has until now been able to avoid entanglements with the Mariscales - partly due to Arriaga's influence over the city watch, and partly due to his remarkable ability to avoid being caught in the act. The lack of living witnesses is also a factor.

Description
Agila is a man of average stature with a whip-thin silhouette. His tousled hair is dark and his skin pale, with a lean, almost boyish face and a wolfish grin like an open wound.
He dresses with a touch of panache that belies his staid palette - breeches, high leather bots, leather jerkin, and a short dark cape, all in black. At his waist is a lightweight silver-hilted rapier and a dagger with a garnet in the pommel. He is rarely seen without his black wide-brimmed hat, and wears a decorative red half-mask when he prowls the city by moonlight.
Recent History
Once, Boss Arriaga thought Agila was his creature. As devilish and mysterious as Agila was, it seemed that the men had an understanding between them - that Arriaga would look after Agila, and give him both ample opportunity to indulges his bloody impulses, and adequate recompense in gold for his particular problem-solving skills. He thought it useful to have such a dog in his kennel... but did not suspect he had actually taken in a wolf.
A whispered rumour suggests that Agila has overturned his business relationship with Arriaga, and although Arriaga still runs the operation in the Colegio, it is now the enigmatic Agila who sits at the top...

*Agila's status as a member of the blood-drinking Vaara race is not known to the general public of Ladroa, nor seemingly any of Agila's human associates. It is also generally unknown that Agila was slain in the Copper Goblet raid, or that Kian Grey now masquerades as this killer.
