A large black shroud, embroidered with various arcane symbols that seem culled from disparate traditions and cultures, some familiar, others utterly alien. It seems old, but the fibres are intact, and the dyes remain deep and dark.

The Veil is a magical device created to cloak someone or something from the eyes of the gods - clouding the sight of outer planar beings and creatures from the spirit world who might normally be able to peer into the world of men.

Using the Veil to hide from the gods requires an understanding of the divine cosmologies involved, and the ability to read at least some of its iconography.

In each new set of circumstances, the Veil requires an Arcana / Religion check to use effectively.
